Our Temper Starter Culture is used for fermenting soybeans into nutritious probiotic-rich Tempeh. Our Tempeh Starter contains Rhizopus oligosporus spores, the essential microorganism for successful tempeh fermentation. Symbiota offers New Zealand grown non-GMO soybeans, perfect for tempeh making. Tempeh is nutrient-rich with a nutty, mushroomy flavour; perfect for stir-fries, soups, salads or frying and dipping in sauce as a snack.
