What we eat

by Laura Thompson |

At the foundation of our health is what we eat.

As with all living organisms and working machines; their output and optimum performance reflects and relies on the fuel input. While modern medicine often looks to treat symptoms, we’re left with unaddressed underlying causes of mental, emotional and physical health.

Unfortunately, unlike addressing symptoms and putting band aids on the issues; attending to the root causes of health takes time, patience and a holistic approach. Afterall, some of our problematic health stems back to childhood, or even our parents and their parents. However, steps can still be put in place to work towards improved health and vitality.

One such way is going back to the source of our food. As Michael Pollan says, “if it came from a plant, eat it; if it was made in a plant, don’t.”

All nutritional food starts with plants; even the meat we eat consumed plant matter to develop into the nourishment it provides.
