Strawberry Kefir Smoothie

Super charge your breakfast with this delicious water kefir smoothie. We love strawberries this time of year as they are in season, but you can adapt this recipe using any fruit that you like. Some other yummy options include mango and blueberry. The best part is that it is so very easy to make, and so very good for your gut.

To make a fresh and delicious strawberry water kefir smoothie you'll need:  


  • 200ml kefir
  • 4 strawberries (121g) 
  • 200ml water
  • 1 medium banana, 128g (frozen)
  • 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon honey (adjust to your taste as it depends on the sweetness of your strawberry)
  • Ice cubes (optional)

How to make it:

  • Put all ingredients into a blender and blend on high speed until it turns smooth.
  • Pour the smoothie into a glass and enjoy.
  • Add a few ice cubes in if you want it ice cold

Top tips

  • Hemp and chia seeds are optional if you want to add to your smoothie. Both are excellent plant based sources of Omega-3.
  • Strawberries contain a vast amount of vitamin C and K and are among the top 20 antioxidant foods. 
  • Fermented nut milk and fermented coconut yogurt are great options to add to your smoothie too, for a protein boost.
